How to customize your AirPods Max settings

AirPods Max has a similar process for changing its name. But the customizations options are different from the previous AirPods models. The reason for these different customizations is the digital crown, improved form-factor, and buttons.

Follow the steps mentioned below to customize the AirPods Max settings:

  1. Wake up your iPhone and open the AirPods Max case near it, make sure they are connected.
  2. Now open the iPhone’s “Settings” and tap on “Bluetooth”.
  3. From the Bluetooth menu, find your AirPods Max in the list of available devices.

  5. Now you should be able to find the customization options for AirPods Max and you will notice that they are different from previous models. Below are the available customization options for AirPods Max:
    • Noice Control Button: If you have the latest iOS version (14.3 or up) then you will be able to select which mode will be switched when you click on it. You can choose between ANC (Active Noice Cancelation), Transparency Mode, and off.
    • Automatic Head Detection: Just like the previous customization option, you need to have iOS version 14.3 or later. With this option, you can switch it on and off for detecting if you are wearing your AirPods Max or not. If buds detect that you have removed them, your music will be paused. And once you put them back in, your music will start playing again.
    • Rotation Directions: With this option, you can choose what will happen when you rotate the “Digital Crown”. You can tell what should happen when the crown is rotated clockwise and anti-clockwise. Mainly to change which direction will increase and other to decrease the volume.

NOTE: If you want to remove the connection between your AirPods (any model) and your iPhone. Then you can do this by tapping on “Forget this device” and giving the confirmation. We would recommend using this option if you feel like AirPods are not connecting or the connection is not proper. And you should not worry about ruining anything, since it’s the same process you do when you connect AirPods for the first time.

However, if you remove the connection, then all of our customizations will be removed. And you will have to change the customizations settings again.
